A 50-turbine, 250 MW wind farm on the Black Sea coast, where Selvi is investor and operator.
Dobruja Wind Farm is Selvi Holding's first independent power producer (IPP) investment in Europe. Fifty 5 MW turbines are installed on 3,800 hectares near Constanța. The electricity is sold under a 15-year offtake agreement, and thanks to land agreements with farmers, agricultural activity continues around the turbines.
Project facts
- Investment: EUR 310 million
- Annual generation: ~780 GWh
- Turbines: 50 × 5 MW
- Offtake: 15 years
Selvi's role
The project was delivered by Selvi Holding's site engineering and contract management teams across design, procurement, construction and commissioning. Local subcontractors were used, and all site workers received safety training in their local language before starting.
Local contribution
The plant prevents about 410,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions a year. Bird migration corridors were taken into account in the turbine layout, and an independent ornithology team monitored the site during the first three years; the results are public.
Technical specifications, tender and reference documents for the project can be shared on request by our corporate development team.
